Cliff Schulman is perhaps the most respected Land-Use attorney in South Florida. This photo with the late attorney/lobbyist Harold Rosen was taken before our very rare, precedent setting victory on March 1, 2013 when the Board of Adjustment overruled an arbitrary and capricious administrative determination by the former Planning Director, one of his former "moronic" flunkies, the former Mayor's office, the former City Manager's office, and the former City Attorney's office. Chalk-up another victory for the little guy who has spent his career battling against the machine. If it sounds like I'm gloating, I still am.

The late Herb Gopman was the first engineer to testify that the infamous Coral Rock House could be saved. This was in contrast to the three engineers of the "still" jailed developer and former top brass of the Miami Beach Building Department who claimed the one story structure was a major threat to the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
A few of those city guys who took bribes in excess of one hundred thousand dollars spent some quality jail time to also think about the now restored structure.
On a side note; Herb was the engineer of record for: Portofino Tower, Murano at Portofino, Continuum North, Mystic Pointe in Aventura, amongst several other tall buildings in and around South Florida, 2014.

Thank Mitch when you see this historic Henry Hohauser section of building in Surfside. It’ll soon be incorporated into a new project on the full city block.
